Targets
A: To increase awareness amongst parents and pupils of the consequences of travel and the impact on others. i.e. 90% of parents to sign up to Travel Plan by July 08, 95% to sign up to Travel plan by July 09.
B: To decrease car travel to school from 50% to 40% by January 2009 (based on SIMS survey results).
C: To have 90% of all parents who drive to school signing the Bollin Drivers’ Pledge by July 08, 95% by December 08
D: To increase regular walking to school from 45% to 55% by January 2009 (based on SIMS survey results).
Investing in Safer Routes
A number of children have indicated that they would like to cycle to school, but there is currently no safe storage for the bikes. A grant would aid this and school could purchase appropriate storage and signage. By also extending Safe Cycling provision and promoting ‘Wheelie Weeks’ for bikes and scooters, it could have an overall impact on reducing car use.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Review
The School Travel Plan will be monitored through meetings of the School Council and pupil surveys will be undertaken biannually to assess progress against targets. An annual questionnaire will be sent to parents to collect relevant information.
The School Development Committee of the governing body will monitor the STP as part of their overview of the School Development Plan.
Mrs. Downs (Headteacher) will update the Plan annually and provide the appropriate information to the governors, school community and Trafford Road Safety Unit. Pupils’ travel needs arising from new developments in education and transport provision will be considered as part of this review and the STP will be revised as necessary to take account of these.
