Schools Out

Introduction

School's Out is proud to work with Bollin Primary School, offering childcare before and after school for Bollin pupils only. School’s Out is part of Elmscot Ltd (est. 2001), a local childcare organisation owned by two local mums providing Ofsted-registered, award-winning, out-of-school childcare at 6 local primary schools, and which also includes Elmscot & Woodlands Day Nurseries and Nursery Schools in Timperley.
School’s Out at the Bollin has earned the new Trafford Healthy Club Award in 2009 for the quality of its healthy menus and physical activity provision. We also hold an NDNA Quality Counts Award and are piloting the new Trafford quality assurance scheme, ECERS.

The Club is registered for 40 children aged 3 – 11 years (OFSTED Registration number EY399505).

Opening Times and Location

The Bollin Club operates from 8am to 8.55am and 3.15pm to 6pm each day that school is open. It is closed during school holidays and on training days. Breakfast and a tea-time snacks are offered, along with fresh fruit and water which are always available.

The Club is located in the Nursery, and adjacent Year 1 and ICT classrooms. All children have free access to a secure outdoor play area. The entrance to Schools Out is through the rear Nursery classroom door, and is accessed via a gate leading from the far end of the school hard-surface playground (which is to the left of the main school entrance) into the Nursery outdoor play area, where the classroom door is on the right. There is a separate bell for School’s Out by the gate and the gate is clearly marked with the School’s Out sign.

Staff

All staff employed by School’s Out have undergone rigorous background checks, including the checks required by the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB). Staff also undertake mandatory training in Safeguarding Children, First Aid, Basic Food Hygiene, Inclusion and Common Assessment Framework, Health and Safety and the Early Years Foundation Stage as well as ongoing training and support in career development and further education.

Childcare & Activities

Each child has a keyworker, responsible for ensuring their individual needs are met and that there is good continuity of care between home, School’s Out and school. We take great pride in our curriculum training, allowing us to plan and offer super daily activities for the children, geared to all ages and interests, as well as offering free half-termly workshops such as First Aid, Tae Kwon Do and KiddyCook cookery workshops. Please see our website for details of future events and our current newsletter. We also have an extensive range of equipment, including IT, freely available to the children every day. Homework areas are offered and supervised although staff cannot help children with their homework.

Communication

We work closely with the school staff daily to ensure continuity of care for children and ensure information is passed on. We offer daily verbal feedback to parents of their child’s time with us, we have notice boards and occasionally send notices home, as well as emailing regular e-bulletins, surveys and of course our own website. All Schools Out policies are available in Club for any parent to read.

Fees

Please contact School’s Out directly for up to date details. These are reviewed annually.

Registration Forms

We have a full Parent Handbook available for registered and prospective parents, as well as Welcome Pack explaining policies in more detail for registered parents. Please email us or call into Club if you need a copy.
