NEWS BULLETIN No. 14
Monday, 16th January, 2012
Dear Parents,
Walking Bus meeting - Friday, 20th January at 2.45pm.
If you have expressed an interest in joining the walking bus from the Coop car park, please come and join us at a meeting on Friday, 20th January at 2.45pm.
We have had quite a few families who would like to take part and if we have some additional volunteers, we will be able to start this route quite soon. If you are unable to attend the meeting please let us know and we will then send out more details about registration and start dates.
We are still looking for some additional volunteers to help with our walking bus from Eyebrook Road. Please contact school if you would be able to help on a regular day or days.
Lunchtime News
Our new kitchens are providing school meals each day for 250 children and school meals are becoming very popular. Mrs. Thomson and her team would now like to invite parents to come and join us for lunch on Wednesday, 25th January when you will be able to join with the children and sample our menu for the day.
Please return the attached slip if you would like to book a dinner (Adult meals cost £3.00) and we will send back a confirmation and indication of time to come along. Our lunchtime starts at 11.45 and our younger children eat their dinners first. We will let you know what times your own children are eating!
This is the first time that we have been able to invite parents for a while, but we will now make this a regular opportunity and further dates for the year will be sent home as soon as possible.
At the moment we are trying to encourage good dining manners and especially the correct use of cutlery. Our midday assistants assist many of the children as they learn these new skills, but some children are finding it quite difficult to use a knife and fork, preferring to pick up their food with their fingers. Please could we ask you to encourage the children at home to hold their cutlery correctly - this will be a great help as they learn to cut up their food into smaller portions.
We are seeking to employ two midday assistants for an hour each day
(12 noon – 1.00pm).
Please contact school if you would like further information.
Please return by Friday 20th January
